New Law Adds Korean War Representative to State Veterans Commission

HARRISBURG – A new law authored by Senator Ryan P. Aument (R-36) will add a representative from the Korean War Veterans Association to the State Veterans Commission.

The Commission is made up of more than a dozen organizations whose representatives meet regularly to consider pending legislation at the state and federal levels that affects veterans. “The addition of the Korean War Veterans Association to the Commission will provide well-deserved representation for those who served during that conflict,” Aument said.

Aument introduced the bill based on a suggestion by Dr. Paul Cunningham, a member of the Lancaster Chapter of the Korean War Veterans Association.

“Representation on the Commission is a testament to the tremendous contributions of those who served during this conflict,” Aument said. “The Korean War is often referred to as the ‘Forgotten War’ and I want all those that served our nation in combat to know that their service, dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
