REMINDER: REAL ID Seminar to be Held on February 12

A number of community residents have questions about the new REAL ID option for driver’s licenses and state-issued photo identification cards. New photo identification standards go into effect for Pennsylvanians on October 1.

I look forward to hosting a seminar in Lititz on February 12 in conjunction with my colleague Senator Scott Martin to offer more information about REAL ID. REAL IDs will not be issued at this event; the seminar is for informational purposes only.

The seminar will be held at the Lancaster Airport Terminal, located at 500 Airport Road. Presentations will be held beginning at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

In addition, local officials will be available at the seminar to offer assistance with marriage certificates and birth certificates. Duplicate marriage certificates can be printed on site, and assistance will be available for duplicate birth certificate applications as well.

More information about marriage certificates is available here, and more information about birth certificates is available here.

A link to register for the seminar is available here.

Higher Education Funding Commission Begins Work in 2020

One of the keys to promoting a strong economy is ensuring our colleges and universities are able to meet the demands of the 21st Century workforce. The Pennsylvania Higher Education Funding Commission recently met for two sessions in Harrisburg to study the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow, as well as the future structure and delivery of higher education.

Video of both sessions is available here. To help keep community residents up-to-date on the work of the Higher Education Funding Commission, I added a link to my website at www.senatoraument.com.

I enjoyed visiting with President Peter Gurt and students from the Milton Hershey School earlier this week at our State Capitol. Founded in 1909, The Milton Hershey School was recognized recently on the floor of the House of Representatives for serving students for over 110 years.

The tips range from keeping the house warm to dealing with power outages and plumbing issues. More information about how to manage colder temperatures is available here.

It was a privilege to host Henry and Thelma DeLong at our State Capitol recently. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like to visit and schedule a tour!
